TEEN ACTING CLASSES
AT THE GORILLA THEATRE

ACTING - For Ages 13-18
TEEN ACTORS GANG @ THE GORILLA
CLASS DESCRIPTION
Created for teens, age 13-18, interested in developing their acting and theater skills on a pre-professional level. Students will be challenged to be 100% present during every class. Not just there, but there, prepared, focused and ready to collaborate. Each week the students with be introduced to different approaches to acting and theater. The skills learned will give the students an arsenal with which they can confidently tackle most acting roles. In addition to class work, students will have monologues and scene work for the fall session and will collaborate on a short play for the spring session. These projects will require a commitment to the program beyond attending class. Homework will be expected each week. But it's theater, so it's fun homework, right? The short play in the spring will have the opportunity to be seen by public audiences and will be a fully realized production.

Ami Sallee Corley instructs, along with visiting artists teaching specialty workshops throughout the fall and spring, allowing the classwork to reflect the mainstage season at The Gorilla. Students and parents are encouraged to become season ticket holders and a special Gorilla Gang discount applies to students and their families.

Individual instruction is also available to help with the homework between group session or doe help with outside projects or auditions.
