SIX DEGREES OF SEPARATION

By John Guare

Flan and Ouisa Kittredge, rich NYC art dealers, are called on one night by a young man, Paul, who professes to be a friend of their kids' from Harvard. They offer him a bed for the night; he enchants them with a home-cooked meal and magnificent conversation.

The next morning, however, they learn that he is not all he seems to be. Their investigations are intriguing and lead them to re-evaluate their lives.

An extraordinary tragicomedy of race, class and manners inspired by an actual incident reported by The New York Times in 1983, Six Degrees of Separation is a commentary on the things that drive us all — the desire for wealth, fame, social standing, and meaningful human connection.

"The plot is full of twists...every line comes at you like a screwball or a split-fingered fastball." — The New Yorker
